8/365...2011 Let it SNOW, Let it SNOW, Let it SNOW!

Savannah's first memory of snow - Feb 2010- Haughton, LA
The National Weather Service has predicted a WINTER STORM WATCH for our area:

For Northeast Texas and Northern Louisiana Weather Service officials predict  two to four inches of snow possible which may fall in combination with one to two inches of sleet.
Weather Service officials also advise there may be a significant increase in travel times due to this winter storm, but do not expect widespread power outages.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant Snow, Sleet, or Ice accumulations

Savannah is excited of the possibility to build her 2nd snowman!  Neighbors are excited about the possibility of sledding down our backyard hill.  It has to be the biggest hill in Bosser Parish!  I have not found anything else that hill is worth, but this would be fun!  Hoping to find a sled in NE Louisiana today would be just perfect!  We will put wood in the outdoor chimminea, drink hot cocoa and create sweet memories!

Last year it snowed here,  She and our neighbor Laura built a traditional snowman and a Mardi Gras snowman.  Her Daddy thought it was too cold for her to play out.  We ignored and played anyway!

Savannah was born in Arizona - hotter than HELL it seemed that winter day.  Back at home in KY, there was snow on the ground and freezing temps!  Eric would NEVER let me take her out in the snow for a pic!  I stood on the front porch with her and he took a picture with the snow in the background.

When we married in 2002 we moved to Sylvania, Ohio.  Colder than anything I could imagine!  I never drank coffee until I moved up north.  I drank it to keep my body warm and my hands warm by holding a cup!  I thought I owned winter clothes.  I found out very quickly that I did not.  Trying to buy winter clothes in late March in Ohio was impossible.  Yes - it was cold there but they were putting swimsuits on the racks in stores.

I loved the snow, even occasionally enjoyed shoveling the driveway.  I did not want to do our sidewalks!  We lived in Indianapolis where there was even more snow and then Somerset, KY.  I have missed it ever since.  I would love to move north in a heartbeat if it wasn't for finally living near my family (6 hours away now).  I want Savannah to have the experience of all the winter activities.  I want my little southern belle to play in the snow one day.  Not just the dusting's that we get here in NW Louisiana.

As for tonight, I have a special date night with Eric.  We will stock up on chocolate milk, princess soup and nite night diapers. Tomorrow we will enjoy being together, by the fire inside and out!  Keep your fingers crossed that we do get 4 inches of snow!
