We had a great breakfast, having about 3 different conversations going on at the same time. We talked about birthday parties, Christmas gifts, family visits and how we were so glad preschool had started back and Mothers Day Out. I had a hair appointment at 10 am and had to rush like the other Moms and get to my next appt while I had a few hours break. I had 2 1/2 hours once my appt started to get a cut and color and hopefully a cup of hot chocolate mint tea. Why nothing opens before 10 am other than the craft stores is beyond me! Some store could make a fortune off of preschool Moms who want something to do before 10 am in the morning. But this is subject material for another blog, another day! Heck - today I have enough material for 3 blogs!
I want my hair to grow longer - but also needed a hair cut. THIS does not make sense to many people I am quiet sure! The color was put on my hair, we were going for a warmer red now that it is winter. (Forget it is 70 degrees in January). Well - my goodness when it was rinsed off the gray part of my hair and scalp was PINK! This was at 12:10 and I needed to leave at 12:30! We had to put something else on it quickly to get the pink out. The gray of my hair did not take the color as beautifully as the other parts of my hair. Hey - it would really be ok if I was going to the Mardi Gras 1980's ball tomorrow night. I could go as Cindy Lauper! Back in the late mid 90's I sprayed my hair hot pink for a Halloween Ball. I washed and washed all morning till the water ran clear. The next day at Computer Science class with at least 200 people sitting behind me, someone tapped me on the shoulder to tell me the back of my head was PINK! Long story short, my hair is now fixed of the pink color but no time for the haircut! I ran out of time, having to pick up Savannah from preschool! (And I really think I still have a pink tint to the front of my hair. Savannah says its ok and that I am like PINKALICIOUS (the child's book) who ate too many pink cupcakes.
I arrived on time, not having to be charged by the minute! She was the not the last one left in her classroom. But when Mrs. Dawn said to me "I need to talk to you about Savannah's dress", I thought maybe she pooped on it! THAT would have been better than what she was about to tell me. Savannah lifted her dress all day long, showing her boobies, gigo (a gigo is a belly button if you did not know it) and panties. ALL DAY LONG! She refused to keep it down. She told them - "NO". The two teachers said she did not get to play with the toys after story time, she did not get to pick a gift from the treasure chest today and movie time was another issue. During the movie time which includes 4 classes of kids, she ran to the stage area and danced and pulled her dress up over and over. They finally caught her. Savannah was quiet proud of herself. Mrs. Dawn had to hold her in her lap for 45 minutes to keep her from lifting her dress. Thank goodness she did not get in trouble from dancing. She quiet often tells me she gets her dance moves from Praise and Worship time! When I asked her why- she says "because".
Robert Fulghum, author of Everything I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten said, "Don't worry that your children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you." I promise there are never any streaking adults in this house! I don't know where she picked up this new behavior!
This is Friday. Every meltdown this week was related to clothes being too tight, too many polka dots, the wrong nite nite diaper, not a princess or toy story t shirt and not wanting to wear anything. Dagnabit, I should have seen this coming today!
